A few weeks ago, Iyad Allawi, the U.S.-appointed strongman in Iraq, traveled to Washington, D.C., speaking at both the White House and the Capitol. During both speeches, Allawi used “Bush-speak” to try to convince Americans that everything in Iraq was on the “Up and Up.”
