I Just Voted

I just came back from voting at the Roberto Clemente Recreational center in the Art Museum area in Phily. It took 30 minutes to get through the line despite the fact we had an extra machine (bringing our total to 3). It may not be that long compared with the times other people may wait across the country. However, this is in stark cotrast to the last time I voted where I was the first one to vote at a little bit after 7. W

There was some controversy when one guy was turned away. It seems that the machines were having problems and had to be reset. He complained to the PAC representatives there and one went to call Election Protection. He said that he would return later in the day.

In South Dakota, a restraining order has been issued against Republican poll watchers. Tom Daschle presented evidence of voter intimidation showing these poll watchers working on behalf of his opponent writing down the license plate numbers of Native Americans as they entered the polling place. The restraining order, however, only applied to that particular polling district.

Good luck to the rest of you!
