Apparently, this is what 51% of us want. ABC planned to air the academy award winning film “Saving Private Ryan” uncut to commemorate Veteran’s Day. However, about 19 ABC affiliates refused to air it out of fear of being fined by the FCC. This is ridiculous!
This film is an outstanding piece of cinematic art and does nothing but praise and honor those who fought in World War II. Yes, it has violence. But in no way is it excessive or gratuitous. In fact it is realistic. And perhaps that is the problem. Some people are afraid of seeing anything close to the real violence of war. They would rather watch Fox with its gratuitous sexual innuendo than something of historical and artistic value.
It is a shame it has come to this. But I guess it is expected when the administration was reluctant to even have pictures taken of our war dead returning home.
What would those fallen Veterans think of The State Of America?
