Armstong Williams Apology: Too Little Too Late

Last week, USA Today disclosed that black conservative commentator Armstrong Williams had been paid $240,000 by the White House to promote the No Child Left Behind, President Bush’s unfunded mandate to States. Williams’ syndicated columns, carried in several national newspapers, have been canceled, and his television show is in jeopardy. Seeing his career on the edge of the cliff, Williams has issued an apology. Thestateof.com does not accept Williams’ apology. He should have disclosed his money relationship with the White House instead of trying to mislead his own people.
