The Hunt is Over: No WMDs Found!

In December, the U.S. gave up it’s search for the weapons of mass destruction supposedly held by Saddam Hussein’s regime. The administration has taken much heat that this major prewar assumption went unproven. Charles Duelfer’s interim report will be put into final form and published by the government printing office this spring in book form. According to the Washington Post, hundreds of millions of dollars went into this fruitless hunt with no public accounting for the funds.

Why was the end of the search kept so quiet? I wonder what administration officials will say in response? It is likely not to matter as many Americans have either forgotten or lapsed into apathy on the subject.
