Blog On Mixed Race Heritage

Mixed Media Watch is a collaborative weblog and grassroots coalition that works to promote more realistic, three-dimensional portrayals of mixed people, couples, families and transracial adoptees in film, television, radio and print media. The blog is a sign of the growing trend of acceptance of mixed raced people. (Please remember that “mixed race” doesn’t just mean just the black/white mix. This is one of the blog writer’s pet peeves.) It is also an important source of POV for mixed race people. They sometimes share the awkwardness of being mixed race when dealing with those who make the usual assumptions about them or their background.

They also have listed the winners of their First Annual Mixed Media Watch Image Awards. One winner includes the lovely Jennifer Beals pictured above. Check the site out for a niced mix view.
