Studies show that more women are cheating in marriages. The rise may partially be attributed to more women working outside the home in workplaces charged with sexual electricity. In the past, stay at home mothers had little contact with men they were not related to (unlike the wives of Wisteria Lane) and therefore had little opportunity to step out on there husbands. Also, in today’s world, women are more likely to have more sexual partners before marriage. Some researchers say that these women are more likely to be unfaithful to their husbands.
But the important question is why both sexes cheat. Dr. Joyce Hamilton Berry, a clinical psychologist in Washington, D.C., believes that infidelity on the husband’s part is not due to unhappiness in marriage. Many do so to stroke their ego or to satisfy sexual appetite. However, many wives who cheat do so because they are not happy in their marriages. Do you agree with this theory?
