This past Sunday, the NY Times profiled a popular blog called “The Greek Tragedy.” The blog is the creation of Stephanie Klein, a Manhattan divorcee who passes her time navigating the NYC dating and social scene. The NY Times article credited Klein with being brutally honest in her writings, including her revelation that she aborted her own baby after she discovered that her husband had cheated on her. (See #43–Talk about selfish!) Worse yet, her father accompanied her!
TheStateOf…the blog is entertaining if nothing else. She’s got some funny passages. It’s also funny to see how different New Yorkers are from the rest of America. On Manhattan, the world begins and ends with Manhattan. Manhattaners seem to be chasing some mythical image of what life should be. Money, shoes, clothes, clubs and bars are the Holy Grail of life.
