August Wilson has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Wilson has only 3-5 months to live. The award winning playwright recently finished his ten play cycle on the lives of African-Americans with “Radio Golf.” “Radio Golf” is now being shown at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles through September 18, 2005.
The State Of . . . August Wilson’s health may be declining but he says that he has been blessed and is ready. I have seen a number on Mr. Wilson’s plays and movies and have always left uplifted and more in touch with my culture and myself. He will be missed.
