Bush is expected to nominate Samuel Alito (on the left) to be the next associate justice of the Supreme Court. On Sunday, the press reported that one of the three below would be nominaterd. Samuel A. Alito, Jr., Michael Luttig, or Alice M. Batchelder.
All are well experienced judges with conservative backgrounds. They are sure to satisfy the conservative base. Luttig is perhaps the most conservative of the three. He serves on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the most conservative circuit in the land.
My guess is that the administration will be happy to turn attention away from the scandals growing around them.
