Jesse Jackson Supports T.O.; 50 Cent Comes in Fourth

Jesse “My Baby’s Daddy” Jackson has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the suspension of star NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens. Is there anything Jesse won’t do? Whether it’s Terry Schiavo or T.O., if there is a television camera or a dollar bill, good ol’ ancient “Reverend” Jesse will be there. Seriously, what Jesse Jackson doesn’t realize (or maybe he does) is that he loses credibility when he takes on so many “causes.” It’s called the “Law of Diminishing Returns.”

The Rev. Jesse Jackson called the Philadelphia Eagles’’ punishment of Terrell Owens ‘“much too severe.’””

Jackson said in a statement released Friday that Owens could have been more professional when he publicly complained about his contract, his team and the Eagles’’ organization.

But Jackson said Owens’’ suspension without pay for four games and deactivation for the rest of the season is ‘“much too severe for the charge’ and hurts the athlete’’s NFL career at its height.

In other news, and proof that there is a God, 50 Cent’s new movie, “Get Rich or Die Tryin,’” came in a disappointing fourth at the weekend box office. “Chicken Little,” “Zathura” and “Derailed” all beat out Curtis Jackson. But the news is not all gravy. Because of fears of violence, many major movie theatres pulled the movie from their screens. If you only look at per screen average, 50 came in second.
