Ursula Rucker has released her third album, “Ma’at Mama.” I post this because I am a fan of hers and she is performing this Sunday at the Painted Bride in Philadelphia. She is well known amongst hip hop heads for her work on many of The Roots’ albums. You can listen to many of the tracks here.
I saw her in concert after the release of her first album at the Painted Bride many years ago during my time in Philly and she was great. Her second album was not so much. This album features the legendary Sonia Sanchez on the very first track. Check her out if you got the time and if you are in Philly this weekend.
