No DNA Match in Duke Rape Case

The test results are in: there is no DNA matching any of the Duke players tested. The defense is, of course, saying that no rape occurred. However, let us not forget that she claims she was also sodomized and generally assaulted.

Meanwhile, the defense began attacking the accuser by bringing up her prior criminal acts and to photos taken allegedly before the assault. They claim she showed up already “impaired” with bruises on her legs, “especially around the knees.”

In June 2002, police records show, she stole the taxi of a man to whom she was giving a lap dance at a Durham strip club. The records say she led a sheriff’s deputy on a winding chase at speeds of up to 70 mph, and tried to run him down as he approached the cab on foot.

The woman, a divorced mother of two, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of larceny, speeding to elude arrest, assault on a government official and driving while impaired. She was sentenced to three consecutive weekends in jail and two years’ probation.

Although the scandal in these allegations has been centered around the rape, even if the young woman was assaulted and roughed up, many of these players will likely be suspended or expelled. The sad thing will be if those who support the attackers say triumphantly, “they didn’t rape her” while seemingly forgetting that these animals beat a woman.
