Rapper ICE CUBE has vowed to shake-up the hip-hop industry after expressing outrage at its commercialism. The star - real name O’SHEA JACKSON - fears the current US rap scene has forgotten its roots and lost direction. He is so appalled that sex and ‘bling’ are favoured over social commentary in hip-hop tracks he’s heading a campaign to stamp out the corporate rot. The former NWA star says, “All we’re hearing from America is booty music. If American rappers don’t step up their game, then I will. “I’m planning on releasing three records in two years - each more politically charged. “I’m going my own path to sway the tide. We’ve got to do whatever we can to put the music back in the hands of the people who love it.”
