“The Warrior Method” is a program designed by Raymond Winbush to help parents and teachers transform young black boys into strong, self-reliant men. It is now taught at an institute funded in part by a grant from actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

I (J) just finished reading Catch A Fire: The Life of Bob Marley by Timothy White, partly because I love Marley’s music and partly because I’m taking a much-needed voyage to Jamaica in a few months. The book doesn’t mention Marley at all in the first 25 pages, which I found quite interesting. [...]
