I (J) recently heard an interview with former President Jimmy Carter on NPR’s “Speaking of Faith.” Mr. Carter, who has been married to his wife Rosalyn for over 60 years, said that the key to their marriage is the concept of “repetitive forgiveness” - that in order to get along happily with someone we love for such a long period of time, we must continually forgive both the small slights and the big mistakes. Just let it go. I have found the same to be true in my life.
Matthew 18:21-22: “Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy times seven times.”
