Global Warming & The Bering Strait

“The distance across the Bering Strait from Siberia to Alaska’s Seward Peninsula is approximately 55 miles, and for several periods during the Pleistocene Ice Ages the trip could be made entirely on land instead of water.”

TheStateOf . . . Global Warming. If it was once possible to cross from Russia to Alaska on top of ice, and that ice melted thousands of years ago, why are we now surprised when ice melts in the North Pole? Perhaps it’s the cyclical functioning of the earth? I’m (J) only skeptical because last year, Global Warming was a ‘liberal’ cause celebre. Now, it’s completely accepted fact by all businesses and politicians. I’m all for conservation, hybrids, etc., but it seems to me like it was poo pooed until somebody found a way to make money off of it.
