UPDATE: Bill Clinton’s former campaign manager, David Wilhelm, is supporting Obama. John Edwards is thinking about backing Hillary Clinton.
A few facts about Obama’s sweep yesterday:
1) He got more votes than all the Republicans combined.
2) He got two thirds of the men voting and six out of ten women. This used to be Hillary’s base.
3) He officially took the delegate lead for the Democratic nomination.
Salty Clinton also refused to congratulate Obama last night. She was deep in the heart of Texas trying to shore up her Latino base. The only time she mentioned Obama’s name was to dis his health care plan. Also, her deputy campaign manager, Mike Henry, stepped down. As you can see to the right, MSNBC has Obama widening his lead in delegates. According to the A.P., which counts pledged superdelegates, Obama has 1,223 to Clinton’s 1,198.
Next up is next Tuesday with Wisconsin and Hawai’i up for grabs. Hawai’i is the state in which Obama was born and will likely carry the state. Obama was in Wisconsin last night in front of 18,000 delivering his stump victory speech below. TSO will go out on a limb one week early and call Obama the projected winner of Hawai’i and Wisconsin.
