Hillary Clinton stopped Obama’s winning streak at 12 with wins in Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island. Obama won the Vermont primary earlier in the evening.
Although everybody criticizes negative ads, they work. In the final days leading up to the primaries, Clinton went negative in her ads and attacked Obama on foreign trade in Ohio, his ability to handle a crisis (with the 3AM ad) in Texas, and criticized the media for being so light on her opponent. Clinton still lags behind Obama in the delegate count but her wins last night mean that the Democratic race is still not over.
In other news, Ron Paul vows to fight on despite John McCain locking up the Republican nomination. It kills me (rich) that the media totally ignores Ron Paul. Mike Huckabee dropped out after losing all of the Republican primaries last night.
The State Of . . . Election 2008 is still being covered in that good old fashion racial way. In its coverage last night, MSNBC focused on race in it’s first discussions of exit polls out of Texas and Ohio. Blacks for Obama and Whites for Clinton. Although Obama nearly split the white male vote with Hillary at the time of that poll. Next up: Wyoming. The next biggest battleground is Pennsylvania. Whaddup Philly?
