What Is Wrong With Your People?

“Hip-hop star Snoop Dogg has launched a scathing attack on U.S. presidential hopeful BARACK OBAMA - accusing him of gleaning support from a race hate group. The rapper, real name Calvin Broadus Jr., insists the Democratic candidate has received funding from historically anti-black organisation the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). He says, “The KKK gave Obama money. They was (sic) one of his biggest supporters… Why wouldn’t they be? The media won’t tell you that. They don’t want you to know that. They just want you to know that this n**ger befriended this other n**ger who be (sic) threatening your values. “But we all know all presidents lie to get into f**king office. That’s they (sic) job.”

TheStateOf . . . The KKK. Remember that ol’ “The KKK owns” this or that stuff? Snoop never outgrew it. When I was a kid, the KKK owned Carl’s Jr., McDonald’s, Circle K gas stations, etc. Snoop, grow up you damn Sambo!

  1. And what if the KKK has endorsed Obama? One cannot choose who endorses you.

As far as donation money is concerned, there probably are private citizens/KKK members who have sent Obama’s campaign money. (Never thought economic times would get THAT bad.)

But unless that check was written on a KKK bank check, how would you know?

On the other side, if true, then Obama really is a uniter!

  2. ‘your people’
    wtf?

You sound like those sambo shuffling clowns like Mychal Massie and Jesse Lee Peterson when they use ‘they’ when referring to black folks.

  3. I also heard about this KKK thing around the Tennessee primary. Apparently, some east Tennessee rednecks decided that they didn’t want a woman so they would support Barack. I don’t know if they were actually in the KKK. Perhaps the TN TSO contingent can shed light on this.

  4. Of course Snoop ain’t supportin’ Barrack.

Barry O is bad for Snoops biznazz.
Barry O might appoint a couple of TSO’s to the FCC and the first thing we would do is ban Snoop from the airwaves!!

Never put a microphone in front of a high ghetto supastar…Who had the nerve to even ask the question of Snoop?

  5. I think that people give the KKK more credit than it deserves (unless by KKK they really mean conservative whites). I have yet to see the KKK as a powerbase rear its head on the western side of Tennessee. The only recent reports I’ve heard from the eastern part of TN is of a Johnson City KKK members shooting in the air and a bullet came back and hit one of them.

I think that looking at wealthy Bob Corker suporters would be a more accurate place to hunt for anti-Hillary folk than the KKK. The KKK was most effective back in the day because of the fear or misguidance they could impart on people. Seems like Snoop is still in the JIm Crow era with this.

Last but not least, GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I talked about Snoop’s saying Obama gets money from the KKK over on Highbrid Nation. Those statements were completely outlandish but what I don’t understand is how he can go on record saying these things when he was just on Larry King recently singing Barack’s praises.

  7. Can’t WAIT to hear DV’s take on this, Mr. Flag Waver of Hip Hop. :-)

Snoop was on Big Boy’s morning show a few months ago saying he was “of course” voting for “Osama” (yes, he was calling him Osama. He apparently thought that was his name) because he “had to go with the black guy.” So this is interesting.

    Roderick,
What’s wrong with saying “your people.” It’s the blacks vs. niggers distinction made famous by Chris Rock. Must everyone be claimed?

  8. Did we ever consider this was Snoop’s feeble attempt at political humor? I mean, didnt we all get the “Obama supported by the KKK” email?

  9. Rod,

Lighten up! You never heard that phrase before? Geez. It’s humor.

I remember when we were kids, we thought the KKK owned Snapple. We also thought Koreans got special tax breaks for the gov’t that allowed them to open all those stores in our neighborhood.

Snoop is from the old negro mentality that is still talking about the Klan. The Klan has been irrelevant for decades. The Feds infiltrated them back in the 50s and 60s and that was it.

  10. Did the Feds infiltrate or were some of them already closet members? Either way, I agree that they are less of an issue today, but it is the mentality they represent that is still alive, well and concerning. I think they did an exceptional job of indoctrinating their children with their hatred. What about us? Have ours learned love, an abiding faith and respect for self and others at our feet?

And, for the record, I never heard that they owned Snapple. I thought they owned Red Kool-Aid…..[insert eerie organ music here]

  11. Sasha, Roderick,

    J: Rod,

Lighten up! You never heard that phrase before? Geez. It’s humor.

It must be Cali humor because I never heard the ‘your people’ phrase unless it was grouping people by color.

As far as Snoop goes I don’t think anyone has to point out that he is a ‘nigger’ because it’s obvious.

  12. Rod,

It’s nationwide. ‘You people’ has been the clarion call for division by color. ‘Your people’ (variants: ‘yo’ people’, ‘your family’) is something that I have mainly heard black people say to one another.

Although on rare occasion (back in the day) we may have heard an older white person say, “You are a credit to your people”.

  13. the funny thing is ya’ll are really taking this nigga Snoop serious as if he EVER had something political worth saying. I thought TSO was about substantive topics. This to me, is not substantive.

Oh, and leave it up to TSO to bash anyone and label them a Sambo if they don’t support Barry “the smoker” Hussein Obama.

I’m a Snoop fan but this nigga is letting the weed talk for him.

  14. I’m sure there are some Sambos that support the Big O too. :-D

  15. Have to include this pic with my last comment.

  16. Dang KAJ,

Calm down, brother. Lighten up. Ever since I criticized the Nat’l Urban League, you’ve had it in for for TSO. I like Marc and appreciate what he’s doing. I just feel that black organizations are playing it way safe.

The post was meant to be humorous, but everyone took it seriously.

    A little humor is good.

    Big J

  17. don’t forget the KKK owned Snapple…LOL!

  18. Reading this, Calvin Broadus (along with Earl Simmons and Curtis Jackson) really need to stop commenting on political matters. Better to be thought of a fool than proving it. BTW, I like calling Snoop, DMX and Fiddy by their government names. :p
