Keeping Wealth In Perspective

“People want to be wealthy because it increases their sense of self worth. The desire to become wealthy is natural for us because wealth is the expression of our complete nature. The problem arises when we seek to gain wealth in order to have self worth. It is an intention based on fear instead of love. Wealth is meant to reflect who we really are as beings of infinite value. We should seek to manifest wealth as a form of self expression, and not as a form of self approval. This key difference influences everything.”

  1. I do not want to be wealthy to increase my self worth but because of all the exciting things I can do in my life with it, unfortunately everything requires money in our society. I want to leave a legacy for my family, I want to travel when i want, buy a ferrari if i choose to donate to my church and help the homeless. Those self worth is determined by wealth were empty before the money and will continue to be empty after.

  2. I have a very good friend who has about $20M - liquid. I’m like, “Nicka, if I were you, I’d retire!” He always says, “J, I’m in this because I love it, not for the money.” And he’s not lying.

I don’t necessarily want to be wealthy, but I do want to leave a nice starting point for my kids and grandkids. At the same time, I wouldn’t want to leave them so much money that they become empty-souled trust fund babies. There are times when I have to catch myself though. I see the food riots in Haiti and I just have to be glad I’m eating. Mostly, for me, I just want to live a life of charity and variety and travel.

  3. Its funny you say that big J, I know a few people who are liquid such as your friend and they all do have the same concept. It is not the money, it is definately for the love of the business or whatever they do. However, in contrast to that there are still the the others as the article talks about still use it as a tool for self worth who are liquid I know them to lol. We are definately on the same page.

  4. I would want wealth for the security of not having to work for someone paying me 1/5th of my worth.

I HATE working for other people.
