What Really Happened At Hiroshima
Posted on May 5, 2008 by thestateofblog
140,000 people died instantly when the bomb on Hiroshima was dropped. Most, if not all, of the photos you seen growing up in America are of ruined buildings and scarred countryside. It depersonalized the tragedy because we didn’t see bodies. A Japanese photographer took such photos and they were found in a cave not far fro Hiroshima. They somehow found their way to California where, Sean Malloy, a professor at University of California at Merced published them.

You can find the rest here.

Sickening.
And this country is talking about doing it again.
And then has the nerve to refer to others as terrorists.
I have some family members that went to Japan and saw the museum at Hiroshima. They remarked at how odd it is that the Japanese seem to idolize the Americans after such an atrocity.
The most amazing thing, to me, is that Americans repeat the “it saved lives” meme like robots.
I have no problem with the American action taken to end the war. However, don’t believe that the Japanese have forgiven the American government for doing so.
A friend related to me last week that a Japanese scientist told him his country is creating a space-based weapon system that, when perfected, they will use on the USA. But they will only do it when perfected, no tests.
Such weapons ought never be unleased on earth again.
I hope no one will ever drop the bomb on anyone ever again. Unfortunately I’m concerned about those who will do it without much hesitation. Truman I’ve heard gave the order perhaps after much hesitation, but he didn’t want to prolong the war either.
Pres,
You don’t have a problem with use of nuclear weapons? Is there anything you do have a problem with besides criticisms of homosexual propaganda?
The events/rationale leading up to and following H&N played a significant role in Eisenhower’s decision to warn the American people about the Military Industrial (Congressional) Complex.
Levois - There are reports that Japan was interested in surrender prior to Truman’s order to drop the bombs. H&N were symbols and messages to the USSR.
Pres-if you “don’t have a problem with the American action taken to end the war” why shouldn’t “such weapons ever be unleashed on earth again”?

LOL: racism, sexism, prejudice, violence, ignorance, lack of access to education, homelessness, starvation in the world’s richest nation, the deplorable way we treat our veterans, lack of child care for working familes, no universal health care, intolerance, to name a few.
I could go on and on.
