ABC Reports That Obama Now Leads Hillary In Superdelegate Count

ABC News’ Karen Travers Reports: For the first time this campaign season, Barack Obama has surpassed Hillary Clinton’s support among superdelegates, according to the ABC News delegate estimate.

Sen. Obama, D-Ill., picked up two superdelegates this morning giving him a new metric to tout in addition to his current commanding leads in pledged delegates, popular votes, states won, and money raised.

Rep. Donald Payne, D-N.J., switched his endorsement from Clinton to Obama and Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., endorsed Obama. DeFazio was previously uncommitted.

With these endorsements, Obama has the support of 267 superdelegates and Clinton has 265 superdelegates.

The State Of . . . Election ‘08. Can the general election start already? I (rich) like Obama’s tact now of focusing on general election issues. He’s saying, “Let’s leave Hillary alone so she can work through her resentment over being dumped. She’ll get out soon enough.” Chances are the Dems will placate Hillary by offering her some powerful Senate position. I heard that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is not that well liked and Hillary could get his spot. I’m not sure about this seeing as she would have to leapfrog scores of Democratic senators who are more senior than she is. I also heard people knocking around the NY Governorship. But it seems like David Patterson’s not doing too bad. What’s spurned, power hungry, cold girl to do?
