50 Cuts Deal With Rupert Murdoch

This post is dedicated to Denmark Vesey.
“As the saying goes, the rich just get richer.
“50 Cent, the man who made a reported $200 million from his deal with Vitamin Water, is now said to be in negotiations with the Rupert Murdoch founded News Corp for a reported $300 million.

Rupert says, “Let’s find us a big buff negro to do our work for us…”
“The deal would help launch the company’s MySpace Records, as 50 and his G-Unit roster would move under the label’s umbrella.
TheStateOf . . . 50. Now, we can FINALLY put to bed any comments about 50 being a so-called “revolutionary.” 50 has now cut a deal with the most notorious brainwasher in all the world. 50 Cent has always been operating on the same page as the Big Media: produce apolitical music full of sexual nothings and fantasy violence. The coon has come full circle.

here we go….
“The coon has come full circle.”
And there it is. Any argument against this is purely emotional and without reason.
LOL. Um Um Um. Aint This A Bitch?
Handkerchief head Negros … sitting up in corporations … got some nerve.
How you going to be Employed by a corporate behemoth and then knock a hustler … Doing business WITH a corporation at $300 Million a clip … while PIMPIN’ so hard He Drags His Mink On The Floor.
That’s like a bunch of sharecroppers … picking cotton on a plantation mad / jealous / hating a black man CHARGING the plantation owners to use his cotton mill.
How handkerchief head Negros going to APPLAUD some Negro custodian with the glorified title CEO of American Express (owns less than .01% of the company) - and then attack a black man doing deals with the same corporations, while maintaining his autonomy?
Weren’t ya’ll corporate Negros fawning at Jay-Z’s feet last week for his deal with that Corporate entity of the week? Why the duplicity?
This former crack dealer from Jamaica Queens (WITH A FUGGIN G.E.D.!) is about to be one of the largest shareholders of the largest media conglomerate in the world. What’s more revolutionary than HIJACKING the corporations other Negros bitch about?
Nahhhhhhhhhh …. You frontin’. You jealous. You thought Morehouse and Howard and Florida State and the occasional Yale Negro would lead the way to empowerment. Un uh. Those Negros took the path of least resistance - employment. They became sedated non-threatening cogs in the machine burdened with debt.
Corporate / Post -Civil Rights Negros mad because Hip Hop Street Negros bogarded and bum rushed the path to empowerment.
Instead of hating on these young cats learn something, build upon and bring something to the table.
More power to him. But i wish 50 Cent and all of the others of his ilk would go around to high schools around the country and hold seminars about how t odo what he has done in a legal fashion.
Maybe then he can atone for just some of the damage he has done pimping gangsta rap. Yuck.
So DV, 50 cutting deals with the ultimate ‘Illuminist’ means that 50 is empowered? Give me a break, dawg.
DV,
Reachitis is killing elephants in Africa! You’re reachin cuz! REACHIN!
Why all the comparisons? Just simply tell us how this deal does not make 50 the King Coon of the corporate negroes.
You need a break “dawg”.
50 Fighting Fire With Fire is something a nation of black people sitting around waiting for Affirmative Action and Racism to “disappear” or who think if “Niggas jus went ta Cahlege erythang would be jus fine” - could learn a thing or two.
Capitalism is a gun fight. Fiddy, Jay, Nas and these other cats preach with their words and now their actions - that the path to empowerment means BRINGING A GUN TO THE FIGHT.
Establishment Negros are standing around, armed with slingshots given them by liberals wondering why they haven’t made any progress in 40 years.
Say what you want lil Cuz - the fact is Curtis Fiddy Cent Jackson has inspired ten times more young black men than has Kenneth AmEx Chenault - and taught them 100 times more about finance and economic empowerment just in the Vitamin Water deal, alone.
50 Cent IS “Yes We Can” for the hood.
Now Mr. “Thug In A Suit” - why you hatin’?
You sound more like “Anon in a suit”.
-
I honestly can’t even be mad at him. I mean dude makes power moves and is clearly a savvy and shrewd business man. I can’t say that I car for his music so much anymore but the brand apparently is a sure bet. We need soldiers on both sides of the fence.
Anon:
“Nahhhhhhhhhh …. You frontin’. You jealous. You thought Morehouse and Howard and Florida State and the occasional Yale Negro would lead the way to empowerment. Un uh. Those Negros took the path of least resistance - employment. They became sedated non-threatening cogs in the machine burdened with debt.”
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. You insinuate that this “thing” that Fif is doing or has accomplished was some grand plan he conjured up since grade school. “I am going to sell dope, have a baby out of wedlock, get shot 9 times, then align myself with the biggest hitmaker in music to become rich and powerful.” Yeaaa…not so much. Since when is graduating high school, putting yourself through college and establishing a career become easy? If that were the case this discussion would not be needed.
pres:
“More power to him. But i wish 50 Cent and all of the others of his ilk would go around to high schools around the country and hold seminars about how t odo what he has done in a legal fashion.”
What exactly has he done illegal since becoming an entertainer? Could you elaborate on that thought a bit more please?

Get em DV.
SOMEONE (Big J, My Girl RJ) PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION.
‘ Corporate / Post -Civil Rights Negros mad because Hip Hop Street Negros bogarded and bum rushed the path to empowerment.’ -DV
Get em again, DV.
This has always been one of my favorite lines because there is much truth to it. I believe that if they merely allowed themselves a moment to let this sink in, most of them (Big J) will find the hatred/envy/jealousy deep within themselves. It is almost natural. Many times, it takes more effort NOT to hate. Envy is easy.
“How can this Sambo…this uneducated street nigga have elevated to a level the CEO’s after whom I pattern myself and partners in my law firm will never even attain. There has to be a white man behind it. And even if he has amassed the type of wealth that it took Oprah 20 years to gain, he is still a fawking coon!
Don’t knock his hustle…Just get your own!

Since when is graduating high school, putting yourself through college and establishing a career become easy? If that were the case this discussion would not be needed.
There is nothing wrong with this, but let’s be clear. This is NOT necessarily a path to empowerment, it is a path to employment. There is a difference and let’s not conflate the two.
Big law firms are laying off lawyers left and right these days. To add insult to injury, some of them are using bad reviews as the justification for firing them. So now you’ve got Harvard-educated, high-paid lawyers, sending good-bye e-mails crying about having their reputations ruined by a bad review. How undignified.
The rest who stay at the firm will have to work even harder to justify their existence. When Massa comes by the office and tells the lawyer he needs to pull an all-nighter, little peon is going to huff and puff under his breath like a biyatch, while ordering Koo Koo Roo and canceling his dinner plans with his wife.
What did all that “education” get them?
Cookie, Cookie, Cookie … Sista Cookie
You know your boy. Method to the madness.
Do you realize that if you are a black film production company, and you distribute 1 film a year - you would be the biggest black film production company IN THE WORLD?
Black people generate the best content but distribute NOTHING.
That’s like Arabs named Akmed and Ali pumping oil and selling it for $1 / barrel, and then allowing middle men named Eisner and Morris to distribute it at $104 a barrel.
Before I point the finger of condemnation at young brothers graduating from nicks to ounces to kilos - I’m going to check us “educated” black folk, who graduated with paper degrees and have failed to live up to our end of the bargain - creating establishment pipelines that we control.
But, you know what? Later for all the arguing. People see things the way they want to see things.
Some people see 50 as a “sell out” who has done something they wouldn’t do in that position yada yada yawn.
I see Marlow Stansfield making a deal with the Russians.
Maybe after a couple of years and few billion dollars, Fiddy will ‘put Murdoch to sleep’ the way Marlow popped Proposition Joe.
Big J, you three years late with “The Wire”, (another Hip Hop product) so you aint up on that yet.

Oooooooohhh Get ‘em young boy. Hold up a mirror up to ‘em.

Great move for Fiddy, but let’s put it in perspective. I thinks some of you guys hear $300MM and think he just bought the company. First off, he got bought, he did not do the buying (the difference between Jay-Z’s move and Fiddy’s). He sold an interest in is company for $300MM in News Corp stock, given the stock price today ($19 or so) that’s about 15MM shares of stock. compare that to the current number of shares outstanding (2.5B) and Fiddy owns about .6% of the company. Nice move on his part, but he didn’t highjack shit and her certianly didn’t maintain his autonomy.
DV,
I still don’t understand how you can speak out against the Illuminati, NeoCons, the destruction of the family, gay lobby and all that, but will support a black man that makes money off of all of the above. Why?
You also speak frequently about not getting caught up race and being defined by race, but it’s hard for me to find any logical reason you support a man that is becoming a more and more powerful component of the satanic media machine in this country, aside from his skin tone and street origins.
Please do explain why he gets the pass that Illuminati, NeoCons, Gay Lobby, Planned Parenthood do not although he is furthuring their respective missions.
Cookie,
Remaining aware of the Illuminists, understanding the mechanizations of the NeoCons and staying conscious of the propaganda of the Gay Lobby is 1 thing.
Doing something about it, is quite another. I interpret this latest evolution of the Hip Hop experiment as a strategy to do something about it.
In this digital era, media is capital and these Hip Hop moguls are the closest thing black people have to capitalists.
I applaud the moves these cats make the way our grandparents applauded Jackie Robinson jumping from the Negro Leagues to the Jewish Leagues.
The difference is these cats are changing the business model from employment to equity. Imagine if Jackie wasn’t “allowed” to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers, but exchanged his talent for ownership of the team.
I celebrate what Jay-Z and Fiddy are doing on this scale to contrast it to our “best and our brightest” still seeking legislation (Affirmative Action) to GUARANTEE or right to employment. (Trap)
This has nothing to do with Fiddy personally. I’m applauding the Hustle, I’m big upin’ the Game. I’m relaying the story to my sons on the way to school.
“Hey Bam Bam. You know Fiddy Cent?”
Yeah Dad,
“Well you know when we watch American Idol?”
um hm
“Remember you asked me how they make money?”
Yeah. They sell commercials right?
“Yes. Exactly. Remember I told you that TV Network was just one company owned by a man who owns many many companies?”
Yes. Richard Murphy, right.
“Nah man! Rupert Murdoch.”
Oh. Yeah (laughing)
“Well … Fiddy Cent just did a business deal with him. He’s going to sell him, one of his companies to own a piece of all of Murdoch’s companies. He’ll make millions from the deal, but more importantly he will be in a position to do much more.”
Wow. But I thought you said this Richard Murphy guy was bad?
“Yeah, son. He is. But I’m sure 50 knows that. Remember the
Godfather?”
(smiling) Yeah! Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer!
(smiling) “My man!”
“I interpret this latest evolution of the Hip Hop experiment as a strategy to do something about it.”
That’s bullshit.
Fiddy cannot even be compared to Jay-Z on this scale. In fact, the only comparison would be to say that they are polar opposites!
Jay-Z set up a education fund for Sean Bell’s kids!
Does Fiddy even have one of those for his own kid?
Jay-Z married his woman!
Fiddy has yet to bond with a woman and by your standards is “80% homo”, by mine he’s bona-fide gay.
What Jay-Z is doing is revolutionizing the industry, saving a dying genre, reinventing the wheel when it comes to making and distributing music. He’s a mogul!
Fiddy’s just trying to get in where he fits in. Not in an attempt to revive hip hop, he’s not trying to build an innovative system where artists are more empowered and financially stable. He’s in bed with the enemy to make more and more money at all costs! He’s not revolutionizing a damn thing!
Daym, I must need my head examined; agreeing with DV twice in two days.
SDIC
Let me make this perfectly clear: I hate fcuking gangsta rap ‘mucic’ and all of the niggershiyt ethos and abberant anti-social behavior that its practitioners spew, practice, condone and encourage.
That crap brainwashes our kids IN GENERAL and is the worst thing to happen to negroes since slavery.
Need proof? go to YouTube’ and search ‘booty meat’. Nuff said.
Is that crystal enough?
Cookie is whoopin’ your ass, Big Cuz. 50 Cent might have done a lot with the Vitamin Water deal, but the content of his music and his being purchased for .0001% of Zionist, Inc. reveal him to be 100x more of a Sambo than your average corporate negro. Now, I agree with you - these corporate negros with ties on filing there TPS reports don’t need to be speaking on 50’s business prowess, but 50’s got issues.
Big Wayne,
Get off DV’s SACK. He doesn’t need a compliment from you after every comment. Get your ankles out the air, nicka.
LOL!
Big Wayne,
You hear this MoFo? That hater sh*t run deep don’t it?
“Fiddy don’t do dis, Fiddy don’t do dat, Stop complimentin’ DV, I’m a thug in a suit!”
LOL.
Game recognize game - and apparently you clueless.
Fiddy, sold … a website … to the devil … for $300,000,000
That’s GANGSTA NIGGA.. YOU CAN KISS MY AZZ.
If that’s “Sambo” - we need more Sambos. If that’s “Homo” - we need more Homo’s.
Shiiiiit. We need Fiddy to go around to high schools all around America and teach young brothers and sisters How To Hustle. How to build.
If you linear ass Negros who couldn’t recognize poetry if you woke up in the bed with Paul Lawrence Dunbar could appreciate metaphor - your Inner Hater wouldn’t cloud your vision.
“I sell anything I’ma hustler,
I know how to grind
Step on grapes
put em in water
and tell you it’s wine
If you analyze me,
what you’ll find
is the DNA of a crook
What goes in my mind,
its contagious, Hypnotic,
it sounds melodic
If rap was the block
I’ll be potent product
Now get a load of me,
flashy, far from low key
And you can locate me where ever that dope be,
gettin money man”
“James Baldwin is my favorite poet, even though he was gay” Big J
Man, later for James. That shit’s old and outdated. That’s your favorite poet only cuz you got a B+ on your term paper in 11th grade during Negro History week.
Nas, Fiddy, Jay, Lupe - Greatest English language poets of this century. So far …
-
Whatever DV. You’re buggin. I wish you would just admit that Fiddy is your boy. Your loyalty to him is purely emotional and not based on all this bogus biz you’re trying to spit to us.
I’m not getting lost in the poetry. Fiddy is a coon, a sambo, a mark!
And you’re really buggin for not putting Pac first on that list.
DV,
“Fiddy, sold … a website … to the devil … for $300,000,000″
No…
Fiddy sold … “all aspects of the 50 Cent brand — including music, books, concerts, and his G-Unit label.” …for .06% of another company, not $300,000,000. Note the difference between liquidity and stock.
If Fiddy’s path to empowerment was his brand, his music and his label, his ability to make money outside of the corporate environment. He just sold it. Yet at the same time you criticize a Ken Chenault for being a corporate negro and never attempting to find his own empowerment. At the end of the day, they both hold a small share of a large company. How is fiddy selling his empowerment any different than ken allegedly not pursuing his own?
The last thing we need to do is prop 50 Cent up as a role model for young black boys to pattern their lives after.
DV…you mentioned Chenault as if 50 Cent was a better role model? C’mon man.
Chenault went to college, then law school, started a family, and went to work for the man. Less than 20 years later he was CEO of one of the biggest companies in the world. If a kid sets out to be Ken Chenault and falls short, he still can still get a job and feed his family through legal means or has the education and experience to increase the odds of running his own successful business.
If a kid sets out to be 50 Cent…you know…selling crack and rappin’ his way to success…and that kid falls short..where the hell is he? How many kids are F’ed up for life after their big rap dreams fall short?
Earl,
What is the market cap value of .06% of outstanding stock of News Corp?
From The Guardian:
The deal, if completed, would give Murdoch’s company control over 50 Cent’s tours, books, and film projects as well as future albums released by the rapper, whose given name is Curtis Jackson.
The branding agreement would also dwarf the size of the $120m offer that in October enticed MADONNA to leave her longtime Warner Brothers record label for concert promoting company Live Nation.”
What’s the difference between Curtis Jackson and Ken Chenault?
Curtis is selling a brand. Chenault is selling himself.
A producer. An employee.
GED. Ivy League.
Outsider. Establishment.
Field Negro. House Negro.
Identifiable by young blacks. Oblivious to young black men.
Symbolic value is tremendous.
Cookie,
Sista, (you now I luv ya) I don’t love 50 as much as I hate … hate.
The fact that some black Americans can rally around them Jena 6 thugs, and then roll their eyes and poke out their lips at Brothas - doin it - is frightening.
The system is engineered to funnel the Curtis Jacksons and Sean Carters and Nasir Jones’ to prison and to the grave yard.
These cats beat the system. Pure and simple. How you can’t applaud that is troubling.
Brother Maceo,
You making the same mistake Anon makes.
I teach my sons to admire Muhammad Ali. That does not mean I want them to become boxers, throw away their Olympic Gold, convert to Islam, and fight Joe Frazier.
It means I am teaching them to borrow principles that work.
Hustle works. Equity works. Distribution works. Graduating from nicks to dimes to kilos - work.
Just as I judge Kobe by what he does on the court, I judge Fiddy by what he does in the media.
He hustle hards and he wins.
I am far more impressed with what he has done -FROM WHERE HE HAS COME - then Brother Chenault - who … you know … is a custodian of a white man’s company.
Now … if Ken starts his own credit card company and strikes a finance / distribution deal with Citicorp or Chase or Barclay’s - then I’d be impressed.
And I’d convert my plastic right over to him.
But all this “Look at me. A White Man Gave Me A Job!” shit is for the birds.
DV: But all this “Look at me. A White Man Gave Me A Job!” shit is for the birds.
Remember you said that when Obama is President.
“Remember you said that when Obama is President.”
Whacha mean Mace?
DV,
Beating the system is one thing.
Contributing to the system that will continue to oppress and exploit millions, gazillions of African people all over the world is something else that i will not, today nor ever, applaud.
So be troubled.
DV: Whacha mean Mace?
How is Obama rising to political success (and possibly becoming the CEO of the country) by going the same educational route through Harvard Law School any different than Chenault rising to corporate success with almost the same educational background.
At the end of the day, they both went to “cahwledge” and rose in the white establishment. You seem to view Chenault as the worst Uncle Tom out there and have called Obama a prophet.
I’m confused sir.
Earl,
DV
What is the market cap value of .06% of outstanding stock of News Corp?
- Whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
From The Guardian:
The deal, if completed, would give Murdoch’s company control over 50 Cent’s tours, books, and film projects as well as future albums released by the rapper, whose given name is Curtis Jackson.
The key words you should take from that quote are Murdoch, control, over, and 50 Cent.
Ken has no more sold himself out than 50 Cents just did. Curtis has left the streets and now works for the man. I’m not hatin’ I’m just stating fact.
DV,
“Contributing to the system that will continue to oppress and exploit millions, gazillions of African people all over the world is …” Cookie
Damn Cookie. That’s some heavy shit. You act like 50 Cent is the only Negro with a record deal. You surprising me today.
If your problem is with 50 dealing with Fox - say something to these corporate Negros who will be sitting their fat asses in front of High Def TV screens this fall watching Football on Fox Sports like their lives depend on it and playing Fantasy Football, like it’s real.
At least Fiddy has jumped from the ranks of consumer to producer.
Denzel Washington makes movies distributed by the same corporate behemoth - Is Denzel “Contributing to the system that will continue to oppress and exploit millions, gazillions of African people all over the world”?
I mean .. you know … damn.
What i like about 50 is that he is pioneering a new business model for black people: Talent in exchange for equity.
It’s about the BUSINESS MODEL Cookie. Not the man.
“How is Obama rising to political success (and possibly becoming the CEO of the country) by going the same educational route through Harvard Law School any different than Chenault rising to corporate success with almost the same educational background.” Maceo
Oh. Well, since you asked.
Barack Hussein Obama and Curtis Fiddy Cent Jackson - are the same.
Obama and Fiddy are both MC’s.
They are both Hip Hop artists. They both rap. They both make videos. They both thrill white folks. Different words. Same message. Their capital is their flow.
“Yes We Can” and “I Get Money” are the same chokras.
They both make something out of nothing, and then turn something into gold.
There would be no Barack Obama had it not been for Hip Hop.
Obama is hustling in the political world. Curtis is hustling in the business world.
Obama built a constituency, that could not be ignored. Fiddy built a fan base, that could not be ignored.
Their appeal transcends race. Nothing was “given” to Barack. Barack is taking what is his. He’s a hustler. His success is not the product of white largesse. Barack Obama is gangster.
But, ya’ll aint ready for this. Robyn might feel me. Big Wayne know’s what up. KP feels it, but aint gonna say nothing. Other than that, most of ya’ll won’t understand this until a white boy writes in Newsweek.
-
DV…you have gone mad. Obama and Fiddy are the same? Obama is a lot closer to Chenault than he is to Fiddy. There isn’t a single part of your last comment that covers that. You actually pretty much skipped my question.
How is Obama rising to political success (and possibly becoming the CEO of the country) by going the same educational route through Harvard Law School any different than Chenault rising to corporate success with almost the same educational background?
They both moved up as attorneys and ended up in their profession of choice…being promoted (or voted in) by white people the whole way.
How is Chenault bad and Obama good?
“Hustle works. Equity works. Distribution works. ”
Let that sink in.
DV, you and I are just wired differently.
Hey DV, check this out. I thought you might get a kick out of this:
“How can this Sambo…this uneducated street nigga have elevated to a level the CEO’s after whom I pattern myself and partners in my law firm will never even attain. There has to be a white man behind it. And even if he has amassed the type of wealth that it took Oprah 20 years to gain, he is still a fawking coon!” Prince Wayne
” 50 Cent might have done a lot with the Vitamin Water deal, but the content of his music and his being purchased for .0001% of Zionist, Inc. reveal him to be 100x more of a Sambo than your average corporate negro” -Big J
Envy is easy. Rise above it.
Maceo …
a whole bunch of Negros go to Harvard. Very few moonwalk into the white house.
a whole bunch of Negros sell crack and rap. Very few parle $100M equity deals.
Ken Chenault could not win a seat in the Illinois legislature, let alone reduce Hillary Clinton to a political has been.
LL Cool J can rap his ass off, but he aint sell nothing more than Fubu.
Fiddy and Obama have more in common than Ken and Barack.
I’m not knocking education. I’m challenging the goal line.
DV…I must not have been clear with my question. I still don’t hear you explain why it is awful for Chenault to ride the white corporate wave to the top but it’s great for Obama to ride the white political wave to the top.
You seem very hard on Chenault for his success but you call Obama a prophet. What makes Obama’s success in the white political world OK while Chenault’s success in the white business world makes him a bad role model?
Maceo. This has very little to do with Chenault. I’m sure he’s a fine cat.
You know. Like Bob Johnson of BET if he hadn’t sucked up to HIllary. The Chenault reference was nothing more than a juxtaposition. A tool.
Perceived Establishment Success vs. Equity Success
I think it’s time smart black people revisit all of our assumptions.
White women aint feinting at Obama rally’s because ‘he went to college’.
White boys aint lip synching Fiddy in their F-150 triucks, because he’s a “Sambo”.
Those cats have tapped into something from which we could all learn.
To all the haters:
Answer one question.
Would you have entered into the same deal if given the opportunity?
And if you say “no,” call your mama and tell her you a MF’n lie! Then slap the shit out of yourself for being about as smart as a sack of hair.
fiddy? all i know….if i met him….I’d give that nicca dap….i ain’t mad at ya bruh.
Yall came hard on this one.
groupie love is powerful… Make a man accept the very devil he claimed to dispise… Sellout!
